🐢 Citroen C3 Temperature Sensor Problems
Posted February 19, 2015. It seems some kind of software issue. I took fuel level sensor with fuel pump out of the tank and measured resistance. "Full tank" resistance was about 79 ohms and "empty tank" resistance about 400 Ohms. Currently I have about half full and resistance is 250 ohms. I assume level sensor is working properly.
If there’s a fault with it or the differential pressure sensor, which lets your car know the status of the DPF, the EML light might come on. 3. Mass airflow sensor. The ECU relies on the mass airflow sensor to work out how much fuel to add to the combustion chambers to correlate the amount of air coming into the engine.
I think it might be located on the plastic thermostat housing that is fixed onto the end of the cylinder head (right hand side of head if looking from front of car) Think the sensor is located at the rear of the housing and is secured in place with a horseshoe style clip, there will also be a rubber o ring to seal it aswell, probably best to change that aswell!
There may be nothing wrong with the Adblue tank, it is possibly a fault with exhaust sensors. If it is sensors, without warranty you are looking at £400-£500, if it is the tank it would be over £1000. For those with cars coming up to 3 years old I would strongly advise taking out the Citroen Extended warranty if the car is still eligible.
this one covers C3 2002-2009 1.4 8V (engine type TU3JP) - petrol, but if you have a different engine with 16 valves, this many not fit. The sensor for the temperature gauge is the one on the cylinder head, not far from the dipstick.

Keep a check on the temperature of the engine and make sure it isnt getting too hot. It might well be another temp sensor a miss somewhere, it may be a code stored in the ECU.
